Chris Kennedy and Ed Perlmutter visit Westlake Care Community
Congressman Ed Perlmutter, part of the seventh congressional district in Colorado, and Chris Kennedy, Colorado State House Democratic Candidate, visited Westlake Care Community residents Thursday, October 20th.
About 20 residents gathered in the living room as Perlmutter and Kennedy shook their hands and introduced who they were and how they love to represent Colorado.
Kennedy discussed his history of growing up in Colorado and going to college at the University of Colorado in Boulder. He also expressed to the residents it’s important to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming election.
A few residents did more than listen by asking questions about the completion of the Veterans Hospital and participating in discussion.
Pam Rios-Menter, Administrator at Westlake Care Community, said the event couldn’t have gone better.
“We’re just grateful for the opportunity to discuss the hard work and effort that we strive for every day to ensure our residents receive the care and services they deserve,” Rios-Menter said. “And they spent the time with the residents, which is very important.”
Doug Farmer, CEO of the CHCA (Colorado Health Care Association) and John Kunkle, Contract Lobbyist for CHCA were also there in support of the visit.
Mark Bedinger, President and CEO of Colavria Hospitality invited Perlmutter and Kennedy in to see what important work that is being done in the long term care industry.
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to have Mr. Perlmutter and Kennedy in our home to share their views and take questions,” Bedinger said. “This is an important time of the year and our residents really enjoyed the interaction.”
