Golfers Donate to a New Education Foundation

By Brooke Criswell

The 15th annual Saint Paul Golf Classic event, on June 23, 2016, took place at Green Valley Ranch Golf Course, where 140 golfers gathered to have fun and invest in a student’s future.

Over $26,000 was raised in just one day. The event was the kick off for funding the Colavria Hospitality Education Foundation.

The Foundation offers scholarships for dedicated individuals in Colorado who want further training or education opportunities to become influential leaders and contributors in the long-term care industry.

Scholarships are open to any Colorado resident who aspires to a career in the field of long-term care regardless of educational background.

“While our organization offers scholarships for nursing careers, the Foundation also answers an unmet need for those pursuing careers in the fields of accounting, nutrition management, speech, physical and occupational therapies to name just a few” Mark Bedinger, CEO and President of Colavria Hospitality said.

Previous years, Bedinger chose a local charity involved in long-term care or in one of the neighborhoods a Colavria Hospitality facility is placed, as a way to show support to the community.

Golfers were able to purchase raffle tickets with prizes such as A weekend golf package to the Broadmoor, Bronco tickets, Avalanche tickets and gift cards to local restaurants. Most prizes were donated by the Denver- metro community.

The golf tournament has raised a little over $300,000 since its inception.
