Life Enrichment

Gardening at WestLake Care CommunityCreating a balance for personal growth and community involvement

Social Services

WestLake Care Community provides a dedicated social worker to provide social and emotional support to the residents who live with us. Social workers help residents access services within and outside of our care community.  The social worker can assist with:

  • Arranging in-house health counseling and personal therapy sessions
  • Connecting residents with spiritual support
  • Helping connect residents with dental, hearing and vision services
  • Assisting with discharge planning
  • Educating clients about community services available and options for more independent living

WestLake specializes in creating meaning for our residents.  Activities create opportunities to both give and receive care, develop relationships, or just plain have fun.  Some residents assist with activity coordination and leadership. Families also participate through volunteering, attending activities, special events, and supporting community involvement.

Some examples include:

  • Fishing at Sloan’s Lake
  • Weekly trips to an indoor heated pool
  • Trips to local stores and restaurants
  • Outings to sports events, Blackhawk, driving trips to the mountains, animal shelter visits
  • Pet visits
  • Crafts
  • Live music (vocal and instrumental)
  • Knitting/crochet classes
  • Spiritual programs
  • Diverse music
  • Dances
  • Movie nights
  • Happy hour and karaoke
  • Weekly ice cream socials
  • BINGO games
  • Poker Games
  • WestLake News Letter
